Global buys Heartland …Wow! In what appears as an effort to increase customer satisfaction, Global Payments buys Heartland Payment Systems for $3.8 billion. The Heartland makeover over the past decade, has not only drawn attention from the industry, it has drawn out the checkbook of an industry juggernaut. Our best guess is that it will be good for execs of Heartland and not so much for their merchants. In true “Odd Couple” fashion, nobody knows how this relationship will turn out!
